After that back to the oil pressure issue.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8162393339444825234.post-49000174324593844312023-12-17T09:45:12.577+00:002023-12-17T09:45:12.577+00:00It's API SE, by the way. It's API SE, by the way. This can go as low as 15 psi after a long (60 miles) run on a hot (in the UK) summer day. I have a ...Excellent blog, thanks for creating it. I have a 1952 Mark 1 Square Four, and it's always had the identical low oil pressure syndrome you've described. It was a Eureka moment to read this post - I immediately checked my feed pipes, and find the larger one goes to the rockers. It was configured this way when I bought it, and as you note it seems sensible - so I never questioned it.

Couple of questions:

- Have you verified, somehow, that the small pipe to the rockers is actually the official factory configuration?

- I'm thinking of making a 1/8" jet and inserting it into the rocker feed union at the head (why didn't the factory just make this fitting 1/8"?). Might be easier than reconfiguring the pipes. Thoughts?
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8162393339444825234.post-58972469907768982242019-12-14T17:07:54.352+00:002019-12-14T17:07:54.352+00:00I think I would break in to the oil feed line to t...I think I would break in to the oil feed line to the rocker with a tee, near the cylinder head. You would need to arrange a flexible pipe to connect into that tee to hook up your gauge, if you were to mount it on the handlebars; you could use a copper pipe if the gauge were mounted on the frame or in the tank.CharlieCenghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08734806152020304192noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8162393339444825234.post-58360110686204974472019-12-02T15:47:51.176+00:002019-12-02T15:47:51.176+00:00how do you install a gage on a 1955 MK 2 ?please?...how do you install a gage on a 1955 MK 2 ?please?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09584089834862478738noreply@blogger.com
